I just finished reading a book on Dilla and his album "Donuts" by 33 1/3 - Jordan Ferguson.
That book got me so inspired, I sucked up as much of it as I could, been listening to Dillas music nonstop the last couple of weeks so I just had to do something like this...

I composed these two tracks as a tribute for the man, the myth, the legend J Dilla, as he died on Feb 10th 2006. Both tracks are done without quantization.

With the 1st track I kinda wanted to capture the techno, electronic music/sounds which also had a great impact on his music, also since he came out of Detroit (Motor City) where Techno was invented.

The 2nd track is just straight Boom Bap, chopped up sample in memory of his production where he got so crazy with sampling and chopping little fragments into something amazing, organic & new - wow!
